Meeting No. 1096 - Salt

Josh once again made an entertaining start to the Meeting with jokes about salt.

Josh

President Trish handed control to the Toastmaster of the evening, Peter. As Toastmaster Peter guided us through the program with many interesting facts about salt, it's history, uses and how it is an essential part of our everyday life.

A Toast was presented by JP to "All the salt miners around the World".

JP

Word Master Ted gave us the very simple and useful word of "Favourite". This unknowingly favoured John T. as he had the very same in a box of chocolates as part of the Raffle.

Ted

Monica gave the Round Robin segment and posed the question "Who is your Salt of the Earth Person?"

Monica

Trish gave an Educational Session on Evaluations which was very instructive and the hand-out is great as a reference for the future Meetings.

Evaluator Hazel introduced Vaughan's Ice Breaker entitled "Full Circle".

Christiane used the Pathways "Understanding Your Leadership Style" speech which was introduced by Josh and titled "The Leader Leads but what does the Follower do?

Christiane

Timers Tony and Arun provided the Evaluators with the Speech Times, as well as keeping the Meeting on time during the entire Meeting. A good team effort.

The Raffle was sold by John T and lucky winner was Narelle.

Table Topics, all on the theme of salted foods and salt comparisons, were presented by Liz and Marlene. Speakers were Gokul, Monica, JP, Tony, Liz and Arun.

  1. Well done Vaughan for giving your IceBreaker speech.
Well done Narelle for your first TT evaluation. Apparently little steps towards evaluations were not necessary.
Well done Josh (not only on your jokes which I most enjoy) for your first speech evaluation. It gave me clear insight where I need to improve.
So glad to see that timers were called for TT speakers. Great topics. I learned a few saying with "salt".
And huge congratulations to Peter for selecting such an interesting topic!
