Be Prepared To Grab Your Opportunities Whenever They Appear

This speech was actually presented some time ago ...

Have you ever missed an opportunity in your life? Did you beat yourself up about it afterwards? Perhaps you avoid opportunities because of a fear of failure (public speaking for example)

Steven Bradbury, who won a gold medal in the speed skating at the winter Olympics, is a great example of someone who was prepared to take advantage of an opportunity when it “fell” into his lap. He was way back in the pack near the finish of the race, when all the skaters in front crashed.
He was only in the race in the first place because of his years of preparation, and when opportunity presented itself - he took full advantage.

To be able to do this, you need to be prepared.

Speech - Finding Pleasure Through Pain

This speech told the story of how the pain of cycling became an enjoyable hobby and explored the potential to be able to push through the pain to find pleasure on the other side.
