An opening address by President Trish welcomed Area Director Mark, and return guest Shane. This was a fully Zoom conducted Meeting, owing to the usual venue still observing restricted access.
Liz We. was Toastmaster, and what she doesn't know about bridges, their history, location and variety, isn't worth knowing. Our edification was extensive.

Wordmaster Hazel provided the meaning and extensive examples of the word "Collaborate" and it's derivatives. Liz We. used it the most.

Josh was introduced by Evaluator Gail, the title of his speech "Preventing Waste through a Circular Economy". It was from Level 1 Researching and Presenting. Congratulations Josh on completing Level 1 of Pathways.

Table Topics segment was a joint effort by Carmy and Tony. Participants Marlene, Trish, Gail, Paul Leanne and Gokul gave interesting responses to "bridge" related questions. The topics were evaluated by Paul and Hazel.

The Club once again ran a Zoom Meeting, with the hope that the next will be a hybrid.
Trish opened the Meeting and welcomed guests David (from Peninsula Club), Shane and Heidi, giving a total of 18 participants on Zoom.

Hazel followed this with a toast to a great writer "Thich Nhat Hanh," a Vietnamese monk. He lived to age 95, only passing away last month. He spent a lifetime writing about love including books "The Art of Living" and "True Love". His message was simple - to be present for the people you love.

Gail was Wordmaster and provided a suitable word in "Allure, or Alluring". Hazel's French pronunciation of this word was delightful.

Round Robin was conducted by Gokul - with the topic "Something you love". There were various loves among the members and guests, including travel, quilting, chocolate, partner and family.

John T. gave a speech from Level 5 Pathways - which was a marathon effort at 18-22 minutes. His topic "You are only Young Twice" kept the audience engaged with humour and personal stories. A memorable quote was "I decline to decline". The speech was evaluated by Tony.

This was a Zoom Meeting owing to closure of our usual venue at the Brighton Wellness Hub.
Josh opened the Meeting and introduced President Trish. We were reminded of the Division Conference to take place on 19 March at Nundah. Member Liz We. was welcomed back to Australia and to our Club, if not in person just yet.

Toastmaster John T. then explained the Burns Night theme. Robbie Burns was known as the "Bard of Scotland". He was a storyteller, poet, and wrote the famous "Auld Lang Syne" lyrics. His birthday was 25 January so the celebration is held in his honour each year.

The Wordmaster Chris gave us "Supper" - referring to the meal partaken on on Burns Night. It was widely used all evening, as well as John explaining what comprised such a supper.
