Meeting 1091 - Table Topics and Humorous Speech Contest

Always an exciting Meeting with 2 Contests. Once again Sergeant At Arms Josh gave a warm introduction with reminders about switching mobile phones to silent and location of facilities and Exits.  This was followed by the Mission Statement.

President Trish stated that "All Contestants are winners before they even start", by just stepping up to partake. Return guest Amber was welcomed.

Peter provided the Toast -  to "Discrimination" with many examples of how this affects our daily lives.

The Table Topics Contest Chairman Dan explained the procedure and requirements for the Contest.

There were 12 Contestants - I am sure a record number - and they were challenged with the topic "Should we trust self driving cars".

  1. Congratulations to Tony.
It's a shame that you can't listen to the answers of the Table Topic when you are contestant yourself. And of course, the good answer comes after you sit down and the nerves calm.
Very nicely run competitions by Dan (great topic) and Tony.

Looking forward to the next 2 contests and the area conference.
