Sergeant-at-Arms Chris opened the Meeting and handed control to President Annette.

Guest Judges and Test Speaker Elsa were welcomed, along with first time guest Genevieve.
Annette presented new Member Lien with her Toastmasters Badge.

As it is Contest night, Blake provided some light relief with 2 jokes which were well received.

Nick proposed a Toast to Competitive Spirit.

The Evaluation Contest Toastmaster Tim welcomed entrants Christiane, Leanne, Liz and Nikki. All gave supporting and helpful comments with their evaluations. Second place went to Leanne, and first place-getter was Liz.

A thoughtful raffle comprising cool drinks to cover all tastes was promoted by Robyn.
Leanne was the lucky winner.

After supper, provided by Annette and Christiane, the International Speech Contest commenced, with John Topping as Contest Toastmaster.

Darryl's speech titled "Cool, Calm and Collected" had him taking on that role as he spoke. Christiane used the acronym "S.C.A.R.S." and urged us not to be afraid of our scars, but to learn from them. Second place was awarded to Darryl, and first place-getter was Christiane.

  1. What a shame, we didn't get a pic of Nick and his toast. Really enjoyed the toast, Nick - what a clever idea to toast to competitive spirit (enjoy watching the football)
