Meeting 963 "All Speeches"

The 5th Tuesday of the month gave us the opportunity of holding an extra meeting and fitting in more speeches.
John T & Nick

Sergeant-at-Arms Nick opened the meeting and handed control to President John T.

Toastmaster Roseanne had prepared some interesting snippets to keep the programme flowing.

Christiane's Round Robin was a challenge -to tell of a moment that left us speechless, using words beginning with the letter "s" .

There were 6 prepared speeches


Kirsty W
Kirsty's Ice Breaker speech "There's No Place Like Home" won her the "Best Speech" award as well as well as "Personal Best" award.

Annette W
Annette W told us how we can  have a quality life as we grow older. The key, she said is health, life long learning, participation and security.

Jim
Jim revealed an astonishing secret from his past and explained what he has in common with Nelson Mandela.

Steve
  Steve delivered a  persuasive speech. "Ask Not" about taking on challenges in Toastmasters.

Trish
Trish shared her personal journey in her speech, "Public Speaking, the Key to Success"

Sharyn & Liz
Sharyn enlisted the aid of Liz for her hilarious cooking demonstration. We enjoyed the result during the break.

Speech evaluators, Rose, Reza, Darryl, John and Trish all provided insightful evaluations with commendations and helpful suggestions.

General Evaluator Liz had some positive comments. She stressed the importance of summarising in evaluations and making eye contact with the entire room.

The raffle, a radio donated by Steve was won by Christiane.

Remember, there is still another week till next meeting, as there were 5 Tuesdays in March. See you on the 12th April. The meeting theme will be  "Verse - or Worse."
