Meeting 922 Interpretive Reading Contest

Congratulations to the first, second & third place winners of our Interpretive Reading Contest, Jonathon, Dave & Liz Wo. Jonathon read from a children's book, "The Three Little Bush Pigs,"  Liz read an excerpt from "The Rosie Project" and Dave read a poem, "The Lion and Albert."

Thanks to our visiting judges, Chris and Del from Chermside Communicators Club, and Jenny from Healthy Chatterers. John S & John T from our club also acted as judges.

Our club president Liz We was Contest Toastmaster and Nicole was Toastmaster for the meeting.

Thanks to the time keepers, sergeant at arms and tally counters who helped the contest run smoothly.

Other highlights of the evening were Table Topics. Pam presented the topics that Trish had prepared. They were answered by Inge, Darryl, Jim & D'sley.

Darryl presented a Show and Tell segment. He had prepared large pictures of the GWagon, which is used by the army.

Nick's raffle had 3 prizes -  a bottle of wine and 2 tins of biscuits. They were won by Jim, Darryl and Amanda.

We are looking forward to hearing speeches by Liz, Jonathon and Nick next meeting.

  1. I so love the Interpretative Reading Contest' congratulations to Jonathon, Dave and Liz. It is always interesting to see how someone can bring a story to life. Jonathon your children must adore you when you read a story to them !
