Meeting 987 "My Music"

Toastmaster Carmy had set the scene with some of her favourite CD's and kept the meeting flowing with facts and anecdotes about music. It was her first time in that role.

Chris proposed a toast to "Learning."

Wordmaster Blake introduced the word "Interlude," meaning a short interval or pause. It is a term that is also used in music.

John T presented a dramatic reading of Alfred Noye's Poem, "The Highwayman," and stunned his audience when he dropped "down  like a dog on the highway"

In her "Icebreaker" speech, Deb told how her parents and grandparents had helped her to develop "mind, body and soul" and inspired her to help others.

Tim completed his Communicator Manual projects with a presentation about the Competent Leader projects and explained  how the roles performed at meetings can fulfil CL projects.

Leesa chaired the Business Session. One of the items discussed was the meeting awards. The club voted to change the "Personal Best" award to  "Most  Improved." to avoid confusion and to drop the "Best Contribution" award.

:Liz's Table Topics took the form of "This is Your Life." Annette was called out to the front, and the TT participants were asked to tell what they knew about Annette.

Meeting 986 "My First Car"


Three new members were added to our club last meeting. President Steve inducted Deb, Zoe and Robyn. He also welcomed guests Gail and Tracey.



"My First Car" proved to be a popular theme chosen by Toastmaster Christiane.

 When Round Robin Master Master Chris invited everyone to tell about their first car, everyone had a story to tell and the segment went overtime.

Karen proposed a toast to the Toorabul people, who were the aboriginal owners of our area.

Wordmaster Leesa chose the word "Consolidation."  -   an action or process of making something stronger or more solid. or to bring together separate parts into a single or unified whole.

There were three prepared speeches.
Paul  used body language in his speech  "Easter - what does it mean?"

Jim's speech project was "Research Your Topic" and he spoke about "Value for Money."

Nikki presented the raffle. She spoke about the days of Drive In movies and offered some DVD movies and popcorn etc.
