Meeting 984 "Cities of the World"


Two new members! Chris and Blake were inducted by President Steve.



We welcomed guests  Allan (from Redcliffe Peninsula Toastmasters,) Tracey, Robyn, Nicole, Ian and Deb.

Toastmaster Darryl took us on a journey to cities around the world.

Word Master Marlene chose the word "Twiffler" which is a plate that is sized in between a dinner plate and a side plate.  It comes from the dutch word twijfelen which means to be unsure.
Round Robin Master Nick asked, "What is your favourite city to visit?"

There were two Icebreaker Speeches.
Nikki's speech "The Cities of Me" was about her life in different cities.

 Allan treated us to a preview of the speech he will present in the Metro Division Contest.

The evening's awards went to Chris (Personal Best,) Darryl (Best Contribution,) Nikki (Best Speech,) Karen Best Table Topic and Jonathon (Best Evalution.)

All the best to Annette who is competing in the Evaluation Contest and Allan in the Speech Contest at the Metro Division Conference on the 11th March.

Next meeting 14th March. Don't forget, Semi Annuals are due 1st April, so you will need to bring your fee next meeting unless you pay online..

Meeting 983 "Let's Get Romantic"

Annette opened the meeting in  President Steve's absence. Get well soon, Steve! There were three guests, Robyn, Deb and Peter.

The word fo the evening was "Twitterpated," with an alternative "Smitten." Both meaning "to be completely enamoured with someone or something."


There were three prepared speeches by Kirsty, Carmy and Trish.

Meeting 982 "Travel"


It was our first meeting for the year. We were pleased to welcome 6 guests - Nicole, Deb, Peter, Chris, Blake and Area 15 Director Annette M. (There were 3 Annettes at our meeting!)

Our president Steve was absent, so V.P.E. Annette T opened the meeting and handed control to Toastmaster Reza.

Wordmaster Paul introduced the word "Anticipation."

Round Robin Master Kirsty  asked "What are you going to do in 2017?"  which prompted some ambitious ideas.

Tim presented a speech on "Bullying." and was evaluated by Dave.

Area 15 Director Annette M spoke about the coming Metropolitan Division Conference, which will be held on Saturday 11th March 2017 at the Tavernenetta Function Centre, Carseldine.

In her Show and Tell segment, Leanne used the projector to show pictures of the exciting event she had attended - and had been presented with an award for Sales Development Manager of the Year!
