Meetng 966 "Anything Goes"

Another new member for Sandgate Toastmasters! Leanne was inducte by president John T.

John handed control to Toastmaster Rose, who was wearing her "Anything Goes" outfit.

Christiane proposed a toast to "The gift of today." Liz chose the word "Classic" as the word of the evening. Liz also acted as Grammarian and took note of the descriptive words and phrases throughout the meeting.

Carmy presented her Icebreaker speech and told us about her multicultural background and her passion for teaching.

Trish gave a humorous off the cuff speech about a boating accident while on holiday.

 Steve completed his Competent Communicator manual with an inspiring speech, "If you want to be a Toastmaster, Master the Toast."

District 69 Conference 2016

 We are very proud of Annette, who represented our club and Metro Division  in the Table Topics Contest. No, she didn't get a place, but she received a lot of favourable comments from other Toastmasters. Darryl, Leanne, Leesa and John T went to support her. They had a wonderful time.

The Table Topic was "It's a long way."

Meeting 965 "Valour"

"Valour" was a fitting theme for the meeting held the day after Anzac Day.  The theme was carried throughout the meeting by Toastmaster Tim.

Wordmaster Kirsty O chose the word  "Courage."

Annette W proposed a toast "To the peace keepers."

Guests Karen, Beren and Dillon were welcomed to the meeting, as well as our special guest Steve B from Bunya Toastmasters, who treated us with a preview of the speech he will present at the coming District 69 Conference.

There were 3 three other prepared speeches.
Reza's speech "The Land of the Great" was the 4th project in the CC Manual and was evaluated by Marlene.
