Meeting 985 "Say Goodbye to Summer"


Kirsty took on the role of Toastmaster at short notice and kept us all entertained with information and quotes about summer. It was the first time she had taken on that role.

Nikki's word for the evening was "Mellifluous." meaning "smooth flowing like honey.

Dave's  moving speech "A Day in the Life of an AVO" was his farewell speech. We will miss you Dave, and we will miss your vast knowledge, stories and poetry and your willingness to always go the second mile when needed!

Jonathon's speech "You are the Product" showed how we can protect our privacy on the internet by remembering the three "P's."

In his amusing Icebreaker speech, "The Half Half Guy," new member Blake told how he had always dreaded speaking in  public and went to great lengths to avoid it.

Meeting 984 "Cities of the World"


Two new members! Chris and Blake were inducted by President Steve.



We welcomed guests  Allan (from Redcliffe Peninsula Toastmasters,) Tracey, Robyn, Nicole, Ian and Deb.

Toastmaster Darryl took us on a journey to cities around the world.

Word Master Marlene chose the word "Twiffler" which is a plate that is sized in between a dinner plate and a side plate.  It comes from the dutch word twijfelen which means to be unsure.
Round Robin Master Nick asked, "What is your favourite city to visit?"

There were two Icebreaker Speeches.
Nikki's speech "The Cities of Me" was about her life in different cities.

 Allan treated us to a preview of the speech he will present in the Metro Division Contest.

Meeting 983 "Let's Get Romantic"

The word fo the evening was "Twitterpated," with an alternative "Smitten." Both meaning "to be completely enamoured with someone or something."
